Hola! Buenos noches. Friday night is here, and it is Bank Holiday weekend. Did you know that it is also a Bank Holiday weekend in Spain too? Today is Labour Day in Spain, a celebration of Spain’s economic achievements for workers all over the country.
Our friends over there will have been resting today, and schools have been closed too, so there will have been plenty of time spent with family and friends at the beach, dining in restaurants or just enjoying a day free of work. What better way to spend a Friday in the sun?
The weather has been heating up too, with highs of 27 degrees in Alicante and Murcia today. Sounds wonderful doesn’t it? Did you know that in the region of Murcia there are annual tapas routes that takes place throughout the year? Well right now there is one happening in the Los Belones area, from the 24th April until the 10th May. These routes invite both residents and visitors to enjoy a tapa and a drink in participating establishments for just €2.50.
There are 21 bars and restaurants taking place in this particular route, all offering a choice of 31 tapas, and drinks too including wine, beer or a cafe con leche. There are prizes on offer too, for anyone trying more than 4 tapas and receiving the necessary stamps along the route, they will be entitled to vote for their favorite dish on offer. They will then be entered into a draw to win a prize.
These routes are a lot of fun and are a great way of checking out new bars and restaurants, and meeting up with fellow visitors and residents in the process too.
Sun, lovely food, drinks and a great chance to socialise too, what a brilliant way to spend a weekend. That’s why we love Spain!
